Lessons From My Dog

Every day, I take my puppy out for walks. Right now, his potty training seems to dictate several walks a day. He is potty trained and does not potty in the house. But he only seems to go potty when out on a walk. He doesn't seem to potty when just let out into the yard. So we spend a lot of time together, out on walks.

He has taught me to really really enjoy the weather on a nice weather day.

He was taught me to find joy in the small things, even if the small thing is smelling wood chips in someone's landscaping around their mailbox.

He has taught me that a short walk outside is a better mood booster than sitting on the couch eating ice cream, even though that is also enjoyable.

He has taught me that even the days that are bitterly cold where the wind cuts through my coat, I come back home feeling invigorated.

He has taught me that a snuggle after a long walk is the best cure for feeling sad.
